My friend Oddbjørn Hofseth was working on a documentary about the black metal scene in Norway in the early 90’s and he needed some help to get the sound mixed, so he asked me. I ended up doing all the post-production sound on it, which was cool. The Documentary is called “Once upon a time in Norway” and tells the story of the band Mayhem and the rise of black metal in the early 90’s. It’s more down to earth then the usual sensation-mongering viewpoint, and lets the people involved tell their story. Highly recommended if you’re interested in that part of the music history or sub-cultures in general.
